Wow... it's been too long... AGAIN.

So.. Nursing School really does consume your life. I had heard that when you're in it, you sleep, eat and breath it.  It's true.  So does your family.

It's good though.  I am really enjoying the information I am learning.  It's intense. I am not getting much sleep.

I think that if my family and everyone else's families that I know can just stay well, it would be a lot easier.  But so is life.  I think we're about through a pretty intense several week to one month bout of upper respiratory junk.

Right now, I am going to get off this page and knock out some Pharmacology assignment. I think I can, I think I can... pass with a B.. hopefully an A.

I hope to get on and post a lot more this Summer, when I don't have class.. or at least as many classes.  I may have to take Statistics in prep for going for my BSN in a year-and-a-half or so... we'll see.

Ari is now 3 years old and Theo is 18 months.  Ari is quite the energetic ham who just started making up his own songs about anything and everything.  It's awesome. :D  Theo just learned to count to ten.  He is so proud of himself and sooo adorable.  They get along pretty well... when they are getting into trouble together.  ;)

I hope you are all well!  For those of you who usually receive New Years cards from me... I have them... you will probably get them mid-May when Finals are over; unless I can bribe a sibling into addressing them for me.  *sigh* I only got through 1/2 before the semester kicked my butt.  I know you understand.  Until summer!

It's a New Day

Wow.  It has been toooooo long.

In case you haven't noticed, my life has become slightly more busy since Son #2 arrived.  ; D  My priorities changed, my free time was reduced, and my brain has been stretched to max capacity for a while.

Theo is not only to blame.  I also started a Nursing Program this Fall and what a RIDE it has been so far.  I never knew I could be this busy.

Something this morning made me thing about writing a post though, so I am putting my super-fast typing skills to the test.  Hopefully I can shuck one out in record time.  ; )

There is never a dull moment lately.  Ari is sooo hilarious.  At 2 3/4 he talks more and more EVERY day.  He has a great sense of humor and is always coming up with fascinating little jokes and is always 100% pleased with himself; "I funny!"  He knows all his ABCs and works nightly to count higher and higher with Daddy.  I think they're in the 30s or 40s now.  Wow!  He has started to show interest in reading, recognizing that words on the page represent spoken words.  I am excited to see that continue to progress.  = )  He is still INCREDIBLY active.  He loves to jump, run, wrestle and ride his glider bike.  His little engineering brain is always working to figure out HOW things work, and it is fascinating to watch his gears turning when he handles something new.

Theo is now 13 months old, and what a little over-achiever THIS one is!  He started crawling around 6 months, and walked by 10 months.  Now he runs, is starting to learn how to jump, and longs to keep up with Ari stride-for-stride.  He knows a handful of signs, is learning more, and has started trying to say more words too!  He is such a smart cookie who loves to read, run, and snuggle.  He is also quite the ham and has a flair for the dramatic.  I wonder who he got THAT from.  ; D  He is also still nursing, and I am so thankful that we have had such an easy time of it.  We'll see how long he wants to continue!

My husband has a new position at his place of employment and has been enjoying work so much more since the transition.  I am so thankful for that!

Like I said, I am in a Nursing Program and LOVING it.  It is soooo much work though!  I always heard that you "live, eat and breathe Nursing", but I could not fully comprehend what that meant until I was in it.  The amount of reading ALONE puts this WAY above any other class I have ever taken.  It is so fascinating though, with Lab and Simulation, and I have a really great study group that I'm super thankful to have found.  Next month I also start CLINICALS!!  EEEeeee!  I'm halfway through my first semester and holding steady in the "B" range.  I can see only improving as I go along and learn how to better understand the unique style of questioning that is NCLEX.  Don't go into Nursing if you dislike word problems.  lol

What else... I think that might be it for now!  The main thing that I am missing is seeing all my friends.  I have to remind myself that this is just a chapter in my life, and that I will have the summer off in the middle of these crazy four semesters to reconnect.

So... a big shout out to all you people in my life.  Know that I think about you all a lot and wish that there were more than 24 hours in a day.  I'll leave you with a recent pic of Ari and Theo. 'Till next time!
